A rhythmic "click-click-click" sound indicates that the head cannot find the servo tracks. It moves, fails to find the signal, and returns to the parking zone, hitting the limiter.
This is physical mechanical damage. No software can fix this. Insisting on turning it on will only scratch the platters more. The solution requires opening the drive in a clean room and transplanting the head assembly from an identical donor drive.
